Sunday 12th August - Mixed Suzanne Milner

Another mixed competition, not such an easy format, better ball medal and 3/4 handicap max of 18 for the gents and 30 for the ladies. A good turnout with some great teams.

A sigh of relief for Mr Captain and myself after a successful Charity Day so we were on course for having a very enjoyable day with Helen H and Daniel D. No walking for me, I bagged a lift in Helens buggy and enjoyed every minute of it.

Some great shots by Mr Captain with a birdy on the 4th and 17th but some equally great shots by our playing partners. Shot of the day definately goes to Helen for her tee shot on the 17th, very close to the ditch so around 180 yards if my memory serves me correctly.

We came in second with a gross 67 but were just pipped at the post by Wendy and Mick W with 65. Well done Wendy on that winning speech, I'm sure we'll be hearing a victory speech from you again (and you Mick)

Not sure what comp this team is playing in but very cosy on the seat by the 17th tee!!

Check out Mr B tickling the back of Simons neck!!

Satuday 11th August Charity Shield

At last, we had Charity Day on a lovely hot summers day with not a drop of rain. Lots going on at the Club, Putting Competition atthe Golf Lodge, Accuracy Competition at the Driving Range, Hot Roast Pork Baps served all day long and that was before you got into the St Andrews Room.
Congratulations to Chris P, winner of the Ladies Charity Shield

Plenty of goodies to buy, a great arrangement of tombola prizes, samosa's, pakora's and cakes to tempt the taste buds, not forgetting some lovely jewellery for sale, all donated by members at the club.

For those thirsty and in need of some liquid refreshment we had our own Charity Beer for sale donated by the local brewery. Some great raffle prizes in the evening meant around £1500 was raised for our Club Charities this year.
Entertainment by Snake and Co plus another win by Mo Farah in the 5000 metres rounded off a very memorable day

Plus thank you to the following who helped out on the day, I couldnt have done it without you all
LVC Bec, Trudie, Charlotte, Monica and Coral and of course hubby Brian x

Sunday 5th August - Rose N Thorns

A very popular competition, with probably one of the biggest fields this year. The first team time around 10.30am and the last tee time just after 3pm.
Along with Mr Captain Colin Shaw we had to find a last minute replacement so many thanks to Darren R for playing at short notice.

No team picture but some great shots around the patio
